Chris Switzer- Weaver

Chris Switzer, a full time weaver, has lived in Estes Park for over 50 years. She and her husband raised alpacas in town for 40 years, they were the first to have them in Colorado.

Chris has 4 different looms that she works with. She earned a BFA in the art department from CSU in 1984 in weaving, with a double major in anthropology and archaeology,

Chris uses alpaca yarn for her scarves, on the shuttle, going across, she adds color and texture with different yarns. Sometimes she weaves larger shawls and also does framed artwork. Weaving brings her joy.
