Updated: Sep 15, 2023

Kara took an interest in the “quilt revival” that began in the 70’s, first exploring traditional

patchwork quilting and then moving on to creating her own designs for bed quilts, clothing, and

small quilts intended as visual art. Since 1990 she has published patterns under the name Seams &

Dreams.

Over the past twenty years she has also accepted commissions for fiber art pieces and has entered works in various shows, including the Estes Park Cultural Arts Council’s Women’s History Month Show, and Face of the Rockies, for which she was awarded a blue ribbon in the show’s inaugural year . She produces fiber art and does custom upholstery work under the name Kara’s Fiber Art. Her work may currently be seen in Aspen and Evergreen Gallery, Estes Park, CO, and at www.karasfiberart.com. Kara lives and works in Englewood, CO.
